Converting an ICAO PPL (e.g. FAA Private) to a UK PPL

To convert an ICAO PPL to the UK, you need to do the following

  • Pass the written exam in Air Law and Human Performance
  • Fulfil the experience requirements of Subpart H (e.g 70 hours PIC for multi-engine or 200 hours for High Performance aeroplanes)
  • Hold a UK CAA Medical
  • Pass the written Comm and practical RT exam (which also includes English language proficiency)
  • Have completed 100 hours of total flight time as a pilot
  • Pass the PPL skill test
